Here is the messages exchanged with "me" and "LEGO Direct Consumer Services":------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ME: Is there going to be a new version of the Lego Mars Mission Game? Me and some other people are wondering. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LEGO.COM: Thank you for contacting us and for your interest in LEGO® brand products. Unfortunately, because The LEGO Mars Mission line you inquired about has been discontinued from our current product line, we do not intend to create new games based on this theme. Each year, several items are discontinued and new ones added. By doing this, we provide a product line with more variety and continuing challenges to our LEGO builders. You may like a game based on our Space Police theme called Galactic Pursuit, http://spacepolice.lego.com/en-US/games/default.aspx. You may also like a multiplayer interactive game named LEGO Universe that will be released this upcoming summer. To preview this new game, you can visit LEGOUniverse.com. I hope this information helps! Thank you again for contacting us. --LEGO Direct Consumer Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This wasn't the response I was looking for, but it does gives a lot of information! :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ... 0 out of 1 found this valuable. so basically they said no and then spent most of the message advertising other products. But I suppose it stresses the importance of this sites overall goal to 'bring back Mars Mission'

Yeah, it's typical of them. Here is a message I sent them a long time ago: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ME: What is the 'Alien Special Ops' code for the Lego Mars Mission Game? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LEGO: (They start with their intro...) Currently there is only one known code and it is: THEYLIVE (And then they tried to get me to buy their products) <--of course! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you want me to ask them anything else, just post it here because they said: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "...If you wish to reply to this message, use the "Reply" button on your e-mail program. Please do not make any changes to the subject line, as this may lead to a long delay in responding to you." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1 out of 2 found this valuable. " ask them why they ****** cancele MMwhen so many people love it!!"This is why: "...Each year, several items are discontinued and new ones added. By doing this, we provide a product line with more variety and continuing challenges to our LEGO builders..." They said it in the first message I posted! So, basically, they just discontinue a few random product lines every year, then they make new ones! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"This is why:I still don't see what they possibly hope to obtain by doing all this discontinuing. they lost a great deal of bionicle fans with hero factory, especially 2.0) then they come up with their (well this is just not very cost effective or some other lie about it excuse) they probably have more mars mission fans than what this site has gathered. not to mention...the theme had so much more potential. There were MOCs in the original mars mission gallery based off of crystalien conflict alone. never saw those come into the theme . And i'm sure the little well, 4t2 owns the copyright to the units thing if they pulled that is a lie too. 4t2 made the game and the units...but not the parts that could be used to build them. The breeding pit would've made a great set. Anyways, i guess that's what you should expect from lego. The "we need to create new themes every so often" story. some of their themes have lasted for ten years...mars mission was capable of more than it got. Anyways... i'm sure this comment is slightly unfitting to the overall thread... but lego doesn't seem to have any idea of how to keep the fans of their best themes. i only plan to buy a few alien conquest sets if any (they do have some cool stuff... but lack some real quality (something mars mission had a lot of) As for space police... the characters were new... the theme itself has existed three times as of now. It was a cool theme, never got any of it though. anyways... i don't think that they should completely ignore what we have to say. sadly, I haven't said much...yet 1 out of 1 found this valuable. "This is why:That's reasonable, So come on guys, people get tired of old sets now and then, so give them a break, but LEGO really should keep sets up for 4 years tho. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

LEGO should ask the viewers what we want to get rid of.
